1. What AkiliLex Is
AkiliLex is a Software-as-a-Service ("SaaS") platform owned and operated by Chuchi Enterprise Limited, a company incorporated in the Republic of Kenya. The platform provides administrative, document drafting, time-tracking, accounting, and communication tools intended to streamline the operational workflow of legal practitioners and to assist members of the public with routine document preparation.
2. What AkiliLex Is Not
AkiliLex is expressly not:
- A law firm or legal partnership;
- An advocate, counsel, attorney, lawyer, legal practitioner or any similar designation;
- A provider of legal advice, legal opinion, legal representation, or any form of attorney-client service;
- A substitute for the considered judgment of a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
- A party to any matter, transaction, or dispute conducted through the platform.
Chuchi Enterprise Limited, its directors, employees, agents and contractors are not advocates by virtue of their association with AkiliLex and do not hold themselves out as such.
3. No Advocate-Client Relationship
Use of the AkiliLex platform does not create an advocate-client relationship between any user and Chuchi Enterprise Limited or any of its personnel. Communications transmitted through the platform are not protected by advocate-client privilege unless they are between a user and that user's own engaged advocate.
4. About the Templates and Document Library
The document templates supplied through AkiliLex are professionally drafted starting points reflecting general Kenyan legal practice. They are intended as drafting accelerators for use by qualified advocates or as illustrative guides for members of the public.
Every legal matter is fact-specific. No template can substitute for an advocate's analysis of the specific circumstances, the applicable law as in force on the relevant date, and the practical considerations of forum and procedure. Users are solely responsible for ensuring any document produced through AkiliLex is fit for its intended purpose and legally compliant before execution, filing, or other use.
5. About the AkiliLex Seal
Documents generated through AkiliLex may carry a verifiable digital seal. The seal certifies only that the document was produced through the AkiliLex platform on a specific date in respect of a specific matter reference. The seal does not certify, warrant, or attest to:
- The legal accuracy of the document's contents;
- The document's fitness for any particular purpose;
- The legal qualifications or authority of the person who initiated its generation;
- The truth of any factual statement contained within the document.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chuchi Enterprise Limited disclaims all liability for any loss or damage (whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise) arising from:
- Reliance on any document, template, or output produced through AkiliLex;
- Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in templates or generated content;
- Failure to obtain qualified legal advice;
- The acts or omissions of any user of the platform.
7. Unauthorised Practice of Law
Users of AkiliLex must not hold themselves out as advocates unless duly admitted. Users must not draw any document reserved under section 34 of the Advocates Act for fee or reward unless qualified to do so. Use of the platform does not confer any such qualification.
8. Jurisdiction
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any dispute arising from use of AkiliLex shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
